Korean Church English Subtitles, Live During the Sermon

Sermon Translate listens to the Korean sermon and shows English subtitles on the sanctuary screen, the livestream or a phone while the pastor preaches. English Ministry members and English-speaking spouses can sit in the main service and follow every point.

The main service, with the EM in the room

Many Korean churches run a separate English Ministry because the second generation cannot follow a Korean sermon. English subtitles do not replace the EM, but they let English speakers join the main service for joint worship, special services and the senior pastor's preaching.

What works in each language today

Taken from the app's own language settings, so it matches what the app does now. Verse popups can show Bible text in English, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Farsi / Persian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

Three places to show the subtitles

The Subtitles screen puts large, adjustable captions on the projector or a TV. Its Copy OBS URL button adds them to an OBS or Streamlabs livestream as a transparent Browser Source, and the free Windows and Mac desktop app floats a subtitle bar over any window, for example over presentation slides. The Subtitles screen is included in the Standard and Pro plans, or a $10 a month add-on on Basic.

Korean church words in English

Korean church titles such as 권사, 집사 and 장로 have no single English equivalent. Decide once how your church writes them in English, add them with members' names and ministries to the church glossary, and every sermon uses that wording.

Which English Bible appears in verse popups?

The one your church picks in Settings: NASB, KJV, NKJV, ESV or NIV.

Can the livestream show English subtitles too?

Yes. Copy the OBS URL from the Subtitles screen and add it as a Browser Source in OBS or Streamlabs.

Does the English Ministry pastor also get Korean subtitles when preaching in English?

Yes. Switch the speaker language to English and the reading language to Korean; Korean captions keep the formal preaching register and Korean Bible book names.
