OBS Live Translation Subtitles for Your Church Livestream

How it fits your stream

Sermon Translate runs on the laptop that hears the sermon. The Subtitles screen produces a transparent caption layer, and the Copy OBS URL button gives the address to paste into a Browser Source in OBS or Streamlabs. Position and size the source like any overlay.

Sanctuary and stream at the same time

The same captions can go on the projector for the room and into the stream for people at home. For a presenter laptop, the free Windows and Mac desktop app floats a subtitle bar over any window. The Subtitles screen is included in Standard and Pro, or a $10 a month add-on on Basic.

Give it good audio

Feed the laptop from the sound desk rather than a room microphone; clean audio is the biggest factor in caption accuracy. Sung lyrics caption poorly, so many churches hide the caption source during worship songs. Each reading language uses plan time of its own: two reading languages during a one hour service use two hours of the plan.

Does it work with Streamlabs as well as OBS?

Yes. Both accept the URL as a Browser Source.

Does the livestream audience need accounts?

No. They see the captions burned into the stream.
